they both know what it's like to have a sibling much more liked than them

Whenever Jake comes up with new TNE stuff he runs it by Laurie first bc he trusts him to be honest with him

Laurie won't admit it but he loves hanging with Jake bc usually Jake's fooling around with a guitar while he reads and neither of them have to talk

They get into spats and disagreements a lot but they don't actually fight that often, and when they do it doesn't usually last that long

They're both in therapy for their anger issues, so they never judge each other when they do blow up at something

Jake was Laurie's first kiss. Somehow the topic came up and Laurie admits that he's never kissed anyone, let alone dated and Jake just shrugs and says if it's that big of a deal then he'll kiss him and then they do.

Honestly Laurie is kind of a cryptid to TNE fans. The band will talk about him but he's almost never seen. Fans learn more about him during quarantine than the entire time TNE has been a band
