The bf let me know there's another tech company hiring my position for $20K+ more than what I'm earning now. Buuuut it would involve going back into the office and the benefits don't seem as nice.

We're fully remote and have unlimited PTO that's actually honored. That's not even getting into how nice the overall culture is.

It's tempting, but the thought of commuting again kills me

Bennies count for something. Could you negotiate up a bit?

nkaru I definitely will when during my one year review. I just passed six months at the beginning of August!

But I also have a really good plan with my manager to keep moving up, which is nice. The support for people who want to keep progressing is most excellent because they really value hiring from within.

Depending on how big (percentage-wise) 20K is, you should at least consider checking it out.

better to negotiate benefits and WFH when you already have a job and don't need this one
Ask for a wage increase before your review. Review periods are typically done at the end of financial years or when things have already been budgeted for the year.

omgwtfbarb unfortunately no chance of it being 100% remote, which is silly.

I think no amount of money is worth working in a toxic environment. Not saying the other job is toxic, but it might be, if they have to offer so much more. Could you find someone who works there and find out?

StereoNacht Starfirez I was talking with the bf some more and he actually retracted his initial interest (he's a recruiter and is working with them). His interactions with them haven't really been the best not terrible, just not the best plus he agrees it's too early to job hop.
