We just discussed a book, The Brutish Museums: The Benin Bronzes, Colonial Violence and Cultural Restitution, by Dan Hicks.

So now we need a movie, which we'll meet to discuss in late September or early October, and a book, which we'll discuss approximately thirty days after the movie.

We want to pick the book now so that we'll have two month to read it.

I read a book this summer called The Exiles by Christina Baker Kline. It’s fictional, but based on research she did about the “deportation” of female prisoners to Australia in the 19th century. The Exiles

I have a couple of book suggestions but I will wait a while because they are new and I don't want to make anyone buy a hardcover... maybe in a bit they'd be more available through our libraries at least
