you can do whatever appeals to you most
i'm just staring at all these options and going "what do i do first"
i mostly just buy gen 1 dragons and slowly gene them up and dress them up. (gen 1 are dragons hatched from eggs)
i did gather food and breed
yeah you can buy gene scrolls to make your dragons have different looks
do they cost much? i have 100800 of whatever the currency is because the person who invited me sent it to me
you can get them from the Marketplace or if you go to the auction house you can search for them and buy them from other users, that can be cheaper sometimes
i should specify the only game like this i've ever played is howrse and neopets
there's two currencies in the game, treasure and gems. gems are the stuff you buy with actual money, but treasure you can get by playing their games
(thanks for all the help, btw <3 )
do they have items like howrse does?
i've never played howrse so i'm not sure, but there are things like clothing and familiars that you can buy
howrse has items you can use to affect breeding/change stats/change the coat/etc
like one item makes sure you have twins
ohhh, FR does have items like that
i'm betting they're expensive too though
it depends! but they also don't have a whole lot that affects breeding like stats or getting twins
mostly just cosmetic things like changing the breeds and genes, there's scrolls to hatch your eggs early and to change their eye types (you can see the different eyes in the morphology page I sent, too)
if you go to the Marketplace you can see what they have for sell
oh there's also items that do effect stats but that's purely for battling in the coliseum and the stats don't get passed on to offspring, but i don't do much coli fighting so I don't have much advice there
in the forums there's a Guides board, that might be good to look at too
oh let me go to the forum then
You can get a small amount of gems through gameplay! Mostly through the iron and gilded chests that familiars give when you achieve higher bonding levels
If you want I could send a familiar care package. A coli care package too if you read up about the coli and think you want to do that
that'd be wonderful, thank you
sent a friend request and a bunch of battle items and familiars
if you're interested in having more dragons, I've got some in my hibernal den that I wouldn't mind giving away (mostly in the unsorted tab)
Yeah, what to do really depends on your play style! Broad things to note re: Dragon Economy is that dragons themselves are generally pretty cheap and readily available; you may sometimes have to pay more if you're looking for something really specific but you can get pretty dragons for very little compared to the cost of things like gene scrolls
Which means that if you want to use dragons as a source of income, the easiest way to do that is not to sell pretty dragons for lots of dragon money, but to sell a lot of mediocre dragons for a little bit of dragon money each. This is because when you "exalt" a dragon (i.e. remove it from the website as an interactive item) you get some treasure back
so people who go the coliseum route for making money will often train dragons to level 7 and then exalt them, either breeding their own for the purpose or buying up cheap ones.
you don't have to go that route, though, if you don't want to run a hatchling mill. there are also the fairgrounds games and you can grind the coliseum for item drops to either use or resell
i think i gotta click around and see what different things are
tbh that's probably the best way to figure it all out
just one more tip though, if you have clothes or familiars you can put on your dragons, having one or more of those attached to the dragon prevents you from exalting the dragon, which is nice in case you click the wrong button (it's happened to us all)
you can also cycle through familiars even if you don't have enough dragons for all of them! (it takes more time, but also nets more treasure and eventually gems)
tell me and I'll send it over
