They sent a guy to go retrieve it and now it's 11 and. What happened to him...

The other two guys ripped up the old floor and are just hanging out since. What else can you do

I guess they can sit on the couch. All the chairs and tv I shoved upstairs and into closets tho

Since when you get your flooring replaced you can't. Have things on your floor

All this is because of the flood next door last February(!) and me losing about 6' of floor against our shared wall

Apparently that floor isn't made anymore so instead they are replacing the whole first floor's worth of flooring, since open concept

Which would be more cool if it didn't feel so a) wasteful and all my stuff (of which there is a lot) did not live on the floor

So the last 48+ hours has been spent clearing out the house. Now I see why people don't live alone, because furniture is heavy,

You can also see the tiny amount that actually needed replacing...

and then all the crap moved...some was too heavy to make it upstairs so hopefully no emergencies in the next 8 hours since it is kind of a limbo to make it up and down stairs :')

...hopefully it is just 8 hours and the guy does in fact return with the flooring...

Anyway I just want this all to be done since my house has been torn up since early March and I am tired... this isn't even the real construction time (we are getting new roofs and new siding over the next 18+ months,,,)

I wonder if the good flooring that they're removing can be reused...? if so, I wonder if you could donate it to habitat for humanity...?

I asked the flooring sales guy if I could pay for them to install it upstairs but he said the latching mechanism would be compromised so it couldn't be salvaged. Not sure if true but it's not a job I could handle on my own and no place to store it so they took it away

Anyway it is done

..:except that they couldn't re hook up the bathroom sink or the laundry machine since the valves leaked for being old...

I am tired

A plumber type was supposed to come tues anyway to move the hot water heater (not sure if laminate flooring under it is the best idea but sure okay) so can just work around for now
