Naruto - Rocks listen i fully acknowledge there are a dozen as good or better OPs in literally just this franchise alone but nothing will ever hit for me like the original Naruto opening and my first experience getting into a brand new anime

Honestly I just need to hear the opening riffs to Rurouni Kenshin Season 2, either the opening or closing credits, and I get yanked back to the 90s and watching the show with fansubs in the game room of a comics shop.

And when I hear the "COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OOOOOO~OOOOOOO" for Naruto I get yanked still back into the early 00s, except this time in college, still with fansubs, and the basement of a campus building.

yeah i mean kenshin was the dub for me but naruto was like pure fansubs through to

that part that literally everyone ignores but was nominally half the show

i mean fansubs Sure Were but like, official translations never preface their stuff with notes that were basically like, no, don't even bother with this part, we'll let you know when it's worth coming back
