It's been touch and go basically since fall of 2019 for me and the MOMENT I started to feel like I could genuinely get back into it I GOT FUCKING COVID and while I definitely haven't had like "long Covid" or anything like that, I definitely have spent almost two months just kind of in survival mode

And I suppose that I could immediately have something ELSE happen because good god, this year has been a whirlwind of both good stuff and the worst stuff that hasn't left me much time to process.

But while I've talked about being in general recovery, etc, this past week has been the first time I've genuinely felt like... balanced? I'm sure I'll have bad days/weeks/whatever still, but the good have outnumbered the bad for long enough now that I feel just kind of... better than I have in a while in a way that's hard to define.

And I finally feel like I have some creativity back.

So if there's anyone out there who hasn't written me off and wants to either pick up something we were doing (no matter how old) or do something new, I'm available to plot and/or pick through our threads.

I am still particularly interested in playing from FFXIV, namely: My WoL, my not-WoL, Hythlodaeus, or maaaaaaaaaybe Zenos (I'm VERY picky about what scenarios I'm willing to play Zenos in, but I really want to play him more). I also would still enjoy playing my elezen stable (Aymeric, Haurchefant, Estinien).

But I also have Carden (cutie who is entirely too powerful of a mage for his own good or the good of anyone around him) and would be fine to potentially pick new people up-- and I have a new OC floating around I would love to voice test as well, who's from Carden's world/storyline.

Also, I still tend to mostly want to play spicy things, but I have no preference between "intensely long build up to actual spicyness" and "the thread starts with them already ripping each other's clothes off"

I don't mind picking up that PSL we had, or we can do something new

ch1ps0h0y: I would love to pick up that PSL, I seriously still go back and read it periodically. But I think I might have more success doing something new to start with and then hop back to that one once I'm more in the habit of tagging, etc.

I'm a little all over the place today, but let me try to get a couple of general ideas down and then people can play off that-- I'm not limited to this if other people have ideas though! I love doing requests, so long as I can figure out how to make them work.

I have my own WoL/not-a-WoL in Sigr to offer, and actually have a character-in-waiting for Fem Hroths to exist that I am SO excited to play and a very odd concept character I want to play... canon-characters I've done both of the big dragons in Hrae and Nidd... and a small handful of Urianger.

My WoL is an Ishgardian elezen from a minor noble house who's been entirely disowned by his family for having the audacity to leave Ishgard. He's both sweetness and light incarnate and ready to sleep with help literally anyone with anything... and also was a Chaos!WoL before chaos WoLs were cool.

Like, he's absolutely willing to carry things and help everyone, but I have never picked a more appropriate option faster than "Now that I can't deny" at the end of Endwalker, and he went into that fight 110% for the sheer thrill of it and no other reason.

(Trying to not be ENTIRELY spoilery on that, even now)

I offer two flavors of Sigr - the WoL who has done the MSQ and suffered it's existence... from a certain point to now... and is sick of the hatred and fighting but has grown hard to it.

And non-WoL Sigr, who still is very much a fighter and would more like be one of the side-people the WoL brings into a fight if that makes sense. He has an Echo, which

ironically after playing him for two years now he only JUST started to learn he has something going on, but otherwise he's a bartender, escort, and owns a bath house. XD

I love putting him in situations where he gets to be that force of chaos, and I particularly love playing with the like, mythos of the Warrior of Light and people knowing who he is, versus the reality of him as a person.

Zaraya is a beastmaster Hrothgar who was a part of the Garlean troops in Bozja, but ended up having to run when they were going to be taken prisoner. She is... very complicated as a character and somewhat feral at this point. I really want to play things out with her somewhere.

Berwulf (Wulf) is a Hyur, simple man... just... slightly cursed. Cough. I need to work on him more but I have so many ideas. XD

My non-WoL is a male Viera who hasn't been outside of the forest very long. He's a bit older, and Does Not Have Time For This Bullshit.

He's very practical, matter of fact, and doesn't suffer fools or people who would make him look foolish particularly well.

I like putting him in situations where most people would fall apart or panic and him being calm throws a monkey wrench in things or paired with someone else for a mission/objective where they can both be brutally efficient about it.

non-WoL character's main in-game moment so far for me was discovering, just by picking what he would actually say in the situation, that you can get Fray to laugh during the DRK quests.

Carden's (non-FFXIV OC) elevator pitch is that he's a somewhat timid young man who's had a horrific past that led to the magic he can use being hopelessly twisted beyond his (initial) control. Eventually he finds out he's the reincarnation of Merlin and has to deal with that bullshit on top of his other trauma.

I usually play him at least somewhat in the know about himself and in control of his powers, but usually still a bit unbalanced. He's entirely too willing to do whatever it takes in the name of learning new things and will not so much stare into the abyss and let it stare back at him as try to invite it for tea.

He's a mess and messy and I love him.

How old is Carden?

New OC (still working on a name) is from his same world/timeline and is the Mordred reincarnation for that world. He's not super fleshed out yet, that's part of what I want to play to figure out, but he's got some like deep woods magic going on that he also doesn't fully understand.

And that keeps kind of alienating him from people even though he's trying desperately to like, fit in and be normal etc.

I usually play Carden in his very early 20s.

Hythlodaeus - do I get to be an absolute manipulative-for-someone’s-good gremlin? I’m happy.

Aymeric - bring me all of your fraught politics and religious overtones. The more Good Catholic Boy conflicted he can be about sex he REALLY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE the better. Alternatively, political marriages etc.

Estinien - god I want to play post EW dragon sex so bad. Is he the dragon? Is the other person? Who cares. (I am not limited to this specific thing, I’ve just read EVERY SPICY VRTRA FIC ON AO3 three times at bare minimum)

Haurchefant - I don’t usually like fix-it scenarios, but will make exceptions. Generally I like sexy shenanigans and overall light heated things with him with a sprinkle of class politics and the sadness to go with it.

Zenos - unless there’s a way out where he doesn’t just immediately fight/kill everything, I’m not interested. Probably works best to jamjar him away from Eorzea.

Probably violent but I think in a different environment might be able to be more civil.

I also TECHNICALLY have a Venat journal.

I don’t have any particular ideas to start with for her though, so I’d need more help getting started.

jantra: For FFXIV stuff, both the female Hrothgar and Hyur sound intriguing-- Sigr is as well, but it sounds like you have a lot more play with him already than with the other two.

non-WoL version is part of the resistance effort in Doma so he gets caught up in the Stormblood events tangentially

And Lucky sounds like he'd be a perfect match to play Carden off of, or I could also voice test my Mordred based character as well, either way. In some ways the idea I have for Mordred might work better with Lucky, but I'm also not as strong with him as a character since he's still being developed.

ch1ps0h0y: I'm curious how you'd feel about me playing Hythlodaeus off your Emet. Or my WoL, but I always feel like suggesting the WoL/Canon Character pair up from the WoL side is a little fraught, even though I love playing off WoLs when I play canon characters.

Basically if you are still interested in starting something new or continuing something old, lmk. It's going to be a busy few weeks, but I am currently neither traveling or sick and I want to cram as much RP into things as I possibly can before either of those things happen again.
