so I started generic Aderall (amphetamine) about 2 months ago and it was kind of amazing
was getting shit done, mood was way way better, i don't think I've ever been that productive it was so good
but then late June I had my women's wellness checkup and my blood pressure was like, 155/104 ish (normal should be 120/80 or below
so I ended up going to Urgent Care a few days later, stayed there for about 3 hours where they kept getting my blood pressure, did the EKG, and it was just up there, around 150-170 on the systolic, over 100 for the diastolic
doc prescribed metoprolol, but also said I had to stop taking the aderall since he wasn't sure if that was what caused the high blood pressure so we'd have to see what was baseline without it
so daily blood pressure med, back to urgent care to follow up a couple days later, had to get blood drawn twice in a week... and I can't take aderall
hello anxiety my old friend. Also it really really sucks when you were actualluy DOING stuff and have to go back to like..... not being able to do stuff
so anyway, i have very low spoons. Dropped snek game which is sadge
all available spoons must not be used for trying to get work done. At least I got the ball rolling on some projects so I just have to keep plugging at things slowly
akjshd I meant I must use spoons to get work done oops
rn, just stuck taking my blood pressure at home. Kinda tried taking half doses of aderall some days, but the pressure numbers go up so I guess I should not
pretty much stuck until I do my follow up doc visits with the PCP and psychiatrist to see what my meds options are... trying not to think of a situation where I can't take ADHD meds
although I did ask during my urgent care visits and was told I could take blood pressure and adhd meds together, so we'll see
but anyway... its dumb but i'm mostly frustrated at knowing what medicated productivity looks like and then having it taken away
I'm sorry things have been so rough
Asidian: i'm annoyed! i'm so annoyed!!! stupid blood!
Your blood is very rude :<
ugh that deeply sucks.
i hope there's an alternative you can suss out that doesn't screw with your blood pressure
Oog, that sounds very unpleasant.. I HOPE STUFF WILL RESOLVE SOON AND YOU'LL HAVE AN ANSWER THAT WORKS
