Crisis of conscience: am I a bad person for filing for short term disability due to a kidney stone? I now know it is 7mm, but not if I will be needing medical intervention to evict it.

I’ve been out of work since the not quite two hours I worked last Monday. And if no medical intervention, it could take me a month to pass it.

If you qualify for something you're not a bad person for utilizing the resource. That's why there are criteria, to ensure the people who are using it are the ones who should be using it.

I’m not currently in much pain, because the fucker isn’t moving. But I could probably work? Even with frequent bathroom breaks? But it wouldn’t be sanitary to take the filter to work to try and catch the stone

I get that. I would too, but I imagine frequent breaks would disrupt your work day a lot.

Nah do the thing. It might be okay now but at some point it's going to stop being as okay and you'll be glad you did the thing!
