First aid was very nice! But I suspect English was a second or third language... and I got concerned after the incident where the aid attempted to wash my clothes in the dryer
Second was awesome... and then suddenly wasn't available anymore when I needed help.
Number 3 is disabled and trying to make enough to live on while fighting for disability. And has consistently called off every other shift.
So when does it go from "I totally get the struggle" to "I need to ask for someone else for my own health?"
It's moved past once is an accident, twice a coincidence, three times a pattern at this point. Not even sure what 5 times would be
as another disabled person I get not being able to, and being desperate for work, but helping other disabled people do things they can't do themselves seems like a poor choice?
but then I think back to my last work search experience and yeah... I absolutely get the struggle
I wouldn't know how to bring that up either
I think five times in a row is more than enough. You need assistance, and you're paying for work that's not getting done. It isn't your job to wait on them to have a good day to help you. Hopefully they'll feel better soon or find a more suited job, but this clearly isn't working.
when number 3 needs an aide of their own, that's the blind leading the blind oof
Or well, five times total, I missed the "other" in "every other" at first. Still, same thing.
its a damn shame they have to bust ass just to make it to get disability
five times is more than enough. you need more help than they can give you, so you need someone reliable. like lwp said, it isnt your job to wait for them to have a good day when your bad days are everyday and you need help.
the agency needs to send reliable people you can depend on daily and hopefully get that one aide a more flexible schedule they can work on
I honestly have concerns that this particular agency is... well taking Hella advantage of people. But it's also the only agency without a wait list a mile long (and even then I waited six months before they could take me)
So I'm a little worried I'll get told it's number three or nothing
Mm... I would say waiting might be better than bleeding money to these a-holes, but I also don't know how badly you need assistance.
I also wonder if theres anywhere you might report them since they do seem to be taking advantage and I'm sure theres a govt funds component to their taking advantage
I will have to ask my case manager
