a bunch of boosters and my own premade rookie deck
cassie also got a deck so we can start picking stuff apart to make offline commander decks to take to local games eventually
she has lived so many places
even includes a shoebox-ass card holder for now
this is probably the least surprising "atma picks up a pandemic hobby" choice after me getting into ff14
the kamigawa art cards are now glued to my laptop as like, faux stickers
Kamigawa Neon Dynasty has some great looking cards
but I love that old Theros pack in there too
we bought a mystery booster stack alongside the kamigawa (which is cassie's favorite aesthetically, she will defend the original set)
there's some fun choices among the pile we bought, there's a bunch of stuff here for when we start looking at offline commander decks
original Kamigawa was cool, my first coherent deck was a bunch of ninjas friends gave me that they weren't using
yeah she told me the ninjas were incredibly strong
i became someone she could teach the game to/explain lore id seen in my life/online and it just became a "let's just play it" and turns out I Like This
she does card/ttrpg design/testing and has done it for known companies
so she has a lot of thoughts on it and appreciates what og Kamigawa was aiming for
it aimed high and missed in some ways
once i get better im gonna look into making a samurai deck since one of the legal for commander guys is basically musashi
weve been using
this to do our online decks
that link is tiny thanks me
she has me watching youtubers and everything
and yeah card kingdom seems to be the best for our budget and everyone recommends it
yeah edhrec is a staple resource
she bought a 5 color battle deck and kicked my ass but it's because i mana flooded hard but she thinks i got a good grip on it
thanks for shortening it! its her thoughts on kamigawa and art direction
new kamigawa is exactly the set for you
but all the resources i can get right now helps, she's debating if i should try like, mtg arena or not, her experience there is Mixed, but playing the module on TTS and loading custom decks works wonders for the level i'm at
Arena has zero of the social aspect which makes it feel off
yeah a lot of why she's getting me into it is we found a massive tabletop/card game store a few miles off/a bus ride away that we visited and it's got Tournaments and Tables and like free board game nights and i could come in anytime for a game or pay $30 to do like cubes or drafts
cassie was actually considering an alesha themed commander deck for me, since she thinks red/white and red/black both could work for me
