I voted successfully this morning without much fuss but damn it is a trial to leave my house and interact with maskless people at ass o clock in the morning.

Later I am getting at least 10 inches of pandemic hair cut off at a new place and if I receive even an ounce of pushback about my mask I'm walking out the door and taking a scissors to it myself.

Honestly kind of disappointed that my fandom circle has mostly migrated to Cohost which seems like the unholy combination of Tumblr and Dreamwidth but less good. Here feels more Twitter like to me. Mastodon is also fine but the complete lack of privacy in dms and instability is off-putting.

Tumblr is weirdly good these days with some exceptions that I'm willing to put up with but I still need a place to put things when it's Time For Jo's Opinions. Might be here.

I have... reservations about cohost, especially as a fandom platform, and mastodon's federated model doesn't do it for me. But it does feel good to dust the old tumblr off.

Mostly I'm just name squatting over on cohost yeah. I hope it goes the way of Pillowfort because I do not care for long form text based posts. Not now, not on DW, and not on LJ.

Part of me wants to namesquat, but also no one else has ever taken my name in 20 years, and I want to hold out at least until they implement user-managed account deletion.

That's a valid reason to wait
