I am in Dallas now

I am doing my fellowship

I am awaiting job offer letters

this process is so stressful

I've interviewed here in Dallas, in Austin, and Oklahoma city

and I'm halfway done with interviewing in ann arbor

and to make it even tougher, I will have like. time expirations on the letters as well

'm gonna try to negotiate some things based on how the offers look

anyway I've had multiple nightmares already about making the wrong choice lmao

We want to buy a house wherever we end up

so from that standpoint, OKC is the most appealing option lmao

gotta see how the math maths out tho

I don't have solid numbers yet

except dallas who is going to offer me <$200k which I just CANNOT stomach

as someone with as many years of training as a neurosurgeon

these people are already goin g to be offering me way less than my debt just because of the field I'm in. That just irks me so much

also while I like it here, there's a lot of things I dislike

there's weird powerplay dynamics with the epilepsy department which

epilepsy makes a ton of money for neuro departments so they have a lot of power from that standpoiint anyway

but the personalities are. eugh

okc will yeah have cheaper housing than dallas I'd think. idk what the dynamics are in those depts at our hospitals tho

but go where you think you'll be happy and I think you'll find a way to make it work

everyone is equitably being underpaid

and they can get away with it, sadly

its academia of course they can lmao

OKC is going to be paying more of that I'm certain

I just dont know how much more
