I don't know that I would call it petty. I kind of want to be careful with my words at the moment. I have no reason to want to do anything to sour a space that I have removed myself from.

People are happy playing what they want to play, and I am happy for their happiness.

Sometimes the things that are fun for one person sit diametrically in the path of things that are fun for someone else. That's normal and understandable. I disagree with the choice to shut down visibility of what probably should have at least been communicated to the players en masse as a mechanic, but people are curating the spaces they want to create.

since I'm just going to document things here apparently, I will also note that I had an incident where I was cut off from chatting with someone on discord mid-conversation due to the other party's account settings. there was then a roundabout communication that involved a mutual friend before we found out that the issue was that we no longer shared mutual

servers. I hadn't clicked the buttons to leave the Penance discord and that choice was made for me. I don't think culling dropped players from the discord is part of the usual player drop workload? In good faith, that might be a new cleanup policy.

In bad faith, I do not understand why we're working so hard to be rid of me

it's okay! let's just make this into a general note that we might need to upgrade to discord friends if you have a "server mutual only" policy for communicating on that platform.

I am not too into discord anyway honestly. It's okay for having private convos but i honestly use it the way I would whatsapp lol.
The game discord servers are very decidedly not for me. they can overwhelm me quickly
