[fire emblem engage] so many people said this was disappointing but so far I am IN. No spoilers but I hope this gives us more lore on dragons and that whole degeneration mess that overall canon relies on but doesn't look directly at.
like universally being a dragon sucks and it'd be great to dig into the why's.
the gameplay loop IS FUN, ACTUALLY and that's really all I ask for.
fun gameplay loop, characters that are enjoyable to be around, and a plot that hangs just enough tidbits in front of me that I wanna see where this is going.
some of the designs are a little iffy but everyone has very compelling eyes so far, which is great
I KNOW. Some of the designs I'm like "okay I feel like we needed to walk this back one step" and then they slam down their Engage form and I'm like "...WAIT THIS IS GREAT."
and even then. there's one particular character who I feel is a bit overdesigned, but she's an absolute beast on the maps so I'm very fond of her in that respect.
