Every other phone consult I've had with this surgery has been with a woman, and when I went in for blood draws, also a woman. This time: Male voice and my heart sank

Started to panic

Said that I wanted to inquire about top surgery. He didn't know what it was. I told him I was nonbinary and then struggled to get out the words to explain what top surgery was.

He said he didn't know if that was something that could be done on NHS (spoiler: It can. It's a whole process, hence me wanting to start it now) and would have to get back to me. Then he asked if I'd started any treatment yet, and I told him no, I'm nonbinary, and I don't need any treatment of the kind he means.

I was actually quite rude to him but I was going into meltdown

And I was already ramped up and anxious since midway through yesterday expecting the conversation to go something like that

At least I have my counselor in half an hour. Definitely have things to talk with her about now...
