The least interesting answer here is Taiki. Warrior of Light, Traveler's Ward, yadda yadda yadda, Sauron is below ff14's Super Weight Class.
Ditto Akechi. He's way too unstable, even if we play it off as him being sensitive to mental manipulation and realizing it I can't imagine him willingly being anywhere near the fucking thing the instant he cottoned on to it.
I think we have a strong contender here in the form of Sam Vimes.
Vimes struggles with temptation a lot over the course of the series, usually in the form of the temptation to let his emotions and his sense of 'street justice' get in the way of his duty as a Watchman. But also… Vimes is anchored by desires that are ultimately very simple.
He wants to be a worthy husband to his wife. A good father to his son.
The Ring is shown repeatedly to have extreme difficulty penetrating a mind preoccupied with simple, wholesome desires like that.
How poetically appropriate that he shares so many qualities with another certain Sam.
He would, however, think the whole thing was bloody stupid, though, and complain about the wilderness the whole time. He's not a country boy.
Give Kuja the One Ring of Power
Instead of a Dark Lord YOU WOULD HAVE A QUEEN
NOT DARK BUT BEAUTIFUL AND TERRIBLE AS THE DAWN
STRONGER THAN THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE EARTH
ALL SHALL LOVE ME AND DESPAIR
Serge resists all the temptations of the ring then hands it over to sauron because one of the nazgul asked him nicely for it
I think the most interesting and/or worrying thing about Sol is the question of how do memories of being afflicted by the Ring affect them?
If Sol takes the One Ring in one timeline, are they then tormented by the weight of it in all subsequent timelines?
worse, the Ring seems to have some ability to read its bearer
by taking the Ring, does Sol grant Sauron access to the same timey-wimey bullshit that's got their jams all jimmied?
probably best not to risk it.
Jason... honey
this doesn't end well for you
the Lone Wanderer already verges slightly into Knight Templar-type tendencies, I'd imagine the Ring would have him waging a one-man crusade against everyone who did anything even slightly morally grey
