so, Binta and I are driving up to BC with my brother on Thursday. I'm really freaking excited, I haven't been to the family place up there in... five years? shit.
we're going up for the second memorial for my grandad, and technically it's a combined memorial for both my grandparents, since Grandma died a couple months before the pandemic and people up there didn't get to have one for her before quarantine.
and I don't even know how to talk to him or even have a regular conversation? like holy shit, he reads as really neurodivergent with rapidly failing coping mechanisms...
/hugs it's really hard when some people want a certain level of interaction from a family member and that person just won't. because there's an extent to which everyone is right, usually, it's just that they dog their heels in instead of trying compromise. I'm sorry you are dealing with that
