seriously though i feel like some people would be like "ah, a slut /nods approvingly" and others will be like "ah, a slut /nods disapprovingly" regarding however clothes get resolved b/c spiky legs not pants friendly

thinking about feeding, i've got two ideas that i'm considering rn:
1) alan narrates the scene and act of consuming the soul like the manuscript pages in canonAlan Wake Remastered All Departure Manuscript Pages ...2) he recites the hiss incantation from CONTROL, b/c he technically wrote it

and the link there with the hiss incantation is that i am fairly certain the naming convention is inspired by the finnish word hiisi, which loosely gets translated to "demon" or at least equated with them b/c of the christianization of finland

so, hiss>hiisi>demon>hiss incantation pipeline of thought

the thought being that the hiss incantation compels the soul out of the body or something, idk

the hiss possesses and corrupts people, turning them into monsters, so it works on the levels here IMO

but also... alan at a public ceremony essentially writing a manuscript page out loud to eat somebody's soul during maya's feast she's hosting is so very

extra and entertaining

one option involves more thought and writing in the action of it, the other is more he says the words that are already written and actions happen around them that are original thought

belated, but I really am very much considering the manuscript angle, especially for reasons discussed offline but still very relevant

conceptually it'd be fun to explore in at least one other thread outside Maya's feast but idk who would be interested and i know hunting/food share dynamics are already pretty well established for ppl at this point so threading is a very big /gestures vaguely

hmm, i was considering a separate log for Alan's temp changes depending on what arrival would look like, but the prompts for the arrival log could actually work out great...?

OKAY so breaking up transformation into two parts, I have some thoughts and changes to divide and organize

i've already worked out the gist out loud, just need to write it out

1st half: >antlers will shed, blood from exposed pedicle tissue will run, horns will sprout first
>no teeth falling out this time, just some jaw pain and magical tooth reformation into new shape
>wald tail will shed fur, grow into longer, whip-like shape, nail barbs
>darkness scales/spikes
>red eyes
>dark magics + soul hunger + weaknesses

(alan is getting the bonus magic and hand of glory ability b/c both seem fun + other reasons)

obviously the acquisition of such things vs the actual use of them will not be an entirely synchronous experience, but just to have a timeline for my own reference

maybe something internal for alan to notice

2nd half: >transition from meat-based diet to souls coupled with changes will leave him with the kind of exhaustion and hunger that only a fresh feeding can satisfy before his body can complete the process, so
>mental changes will start to set in
>alan will feed on a soul
>black scleras + forked tongue
>ears + claws
>wings
>fire immunity last b/c why not lol

the thought of him trying to use fire magic and hurting himself before the immunity sets in is just funny to me

but i'm planning with my personal amusement in mind

John's in the morgue helping with the newbies, then goes back to daily life afterwards so he can be pretty much anywhere in Bavan and being grounded because of the weather, so it'd be easy to find him walking around instead of flying or in a restaurant or looking for work

Steven's just going about his daily life, so work at the college and goong home to 38-8

seen a few diff demon designs with a particular feature that has me and i know aesthetic changes have opened up to be more "go ham have fun as long as there's no additional power aspect" with the mod update but I am still question marks about it since it's not mentioned as an optional feature but it's recurring (maybe in a faq i missed somewhere?)

anyway the feature is fantasy colored skin

i have the tail matching the wings for normal form bc skin colored tail didn't seem the vibe, but i think for fog form i will add more black markings maybe...? i was already planning on doing something like this for the hands

idk why i have been shocked to see ppl with head to toe fantasy skin color i guess other than because like... aside from a couple of people on the bestiary page being black/grey/rose quartz being pink (which makes sense), most of the examples are people with their usual skin tone

i think most of the surprise comes from the part of my brain still tethered to the idea that aesthetics must be tied down to the "core aesthetic rulebook" (false) which is a by-product from when i was in saber guild and they had a strict style guide with arbitrary rules that got bent for people the costume consulars liked but rigidly enforced otherwise

(and i mean rigidly enforced in a way that even disregarded people's unique body proportions or comfort due to trying to fit a certain aesthetic ~standard~ so my brain is still a little borked creatively from that)

anyway, mostly a thought because it's a reminder i need to reevaluate my ideas and goals and challenge myself more creatively
