The fit's not 100% perfect and it's messier on the inside than I would prefer, but I'm really happy with it overall!

I added pockets to the pattern myself and did bias edging on the sleeves instead of just folding them over and slipstitching. I thought the black contrast would be a nice touch.

Planning to wear this when we go to the Winchester Mystery House next month!

I'm already eager to move on to my next project. Maybe I can get a few more pieces together before we go.

Gonna give the Gertie patterns a break for a minute and try some simpler stuff, like tops, easier dresses, and maybe some palazzo pants. I've got a bunch of fabrics in the past few months, just haven't decided which patterns to do yet.

If anyone has any good, free or really affordable patterns to recommend I'm all ears. I've grabbed quite a few off of Mood's site and some tutorials on YouTube.

Oh hell yeah, that's the good stuff. Her free videos are part of the reason I even thought I could do this in the first place. She makes it seem so approachable.

I'm already on Christine McConnell's Patreon and it's been awesome, but definitely want to get Gertie's after I get through a few more free patterns.
