insane this person had the gall to say this with all their chest

i guess this tangentially relates to DWRP with the commentspam v prose players but this is a crazy opinion to toss out when they acknowledge lots of ppl play this way and then insult them in the next sentence

it's weird ppl act like it's one way only - the best compromise is short in public, high pop areas and then you do full para privately in smaller scenes??? (which a lot of ppl qrted saying this)

esp in a chat log-based format!! it is not conducive to have people track multi-part posts if things are moving quickly as they usually do in venues/popular areas

expecting paras in a chat setting is wild because it's SO tiring to play in 14RP bc you have to devote your full attention for that entire chunk of time you've set up for RP (ex. my FC does 2-3 hr events)

i tried really hard to integrate into the scene but it's too chaotic and requires a lot of work on your part to make connections and if you're trying to establish yourself and devoting all these chunks of time, you get really burnt out really fast

i get they're trying to rag on only-dialogue players too and not having enough to reply to, but that's a hook-based problem and NOT response-length LMAO

i feel like there is a balance btwn purple prosey stuffing tags w lots of nothing and short responses that still show personality and to boil it down to length is ???

anyway sorry i am touchy abt this bc i am a bad writer and it does sting to see ppl be like, wow short response bad RPer, when i'm here for interactions

and short form will give me more of that!! it moves things along!!! SAVE THE LENGTH FOR THE DEEPER SCENES

even as someone who sucks at writing, i do find joy in writing more detailed scenes, but only in situations where it really calls for that depth and thoughtfulness - i can't expend that energy on every single interaction when (esp in 14RP) they may go fucking nowhere at all

honestly, yeah, I think RPers need to calm down as a group in general (I include this as a general statement, obligatory “not all RPers” etc) but this is a hobby?

I enjoy lengthy replies for serious scenes, but not all scenes are this way. I don’t find it fun to blather on about NOTHING for 2 pages

well I think writing with you is a delight and I love any opportunity to do so, and this is for fun anyway so it should be fun!
