honestly, in an almost freaky way considering the source material and what was proven to be true haha
but also i really was just looking at patterns and puzzle pieces so idk
for instance, i was right about this, when it happens and i predicted the musical segment to be true based on screenshot analysis from the trailer
this screenshot specifically
the weirdest thing is that there's all this meta commentary and stuff and then things that are really similar to stuff that's happened with him at
happened in the game
had me laughing and squinting at the meta implications haha
i also had a theory alan was clairvoyant but there wasn't enough evidence to say for certain, but this game canonized that he is
also
i just enjoy that alan enjoyed the musical segment, that really tickled me
also he sang in it even, so i don't feel weird about him doing karaoke at ryslig anymore
there's more i could talk about but honestly even with the spoiler tag it feels too soon to talk about them in a public plurk
there is a moment in one of the writer's journey videos that could have absolutely been a moment from Alan's AU stuff during demon month at
in so so so many ways
AU event alan was built on speculation mostly but somehow... canon in ways i did not expect
there's something so satisfying about new canon lining up with the things you've been RPing. I've had the same thing happen with Henry recently
yeah! also nice re: henry things lining up too
currently lamenting the fact that no one has uploaded the writer's journey videos to youtube yet and after a certain point in the game you can't view alan's collectibles for narrative reasons
and... unlike the last two games, there's no way to view them on the main menu either
i'm gonna be recording all of them myself with our capture card when i get all of them since i know when the point of no return is.
shaking over clairvoyant Alan again
i considered having Alan be chin-scratchy at Bruno about it when replying to his mingle comment, but since the timeline for the visions videos from remastered is ~unclear~ whether or not they take place around Control's AWE canon point or closer to AW2, it'd be hard to say if alan would have been pontificating about how inspiration works for him try
prior to his arrival at ryslig
but in any case, that is something he will be thinking about after getting canon updated, and the implications of it
he isn't anymore ofc due to the nature of everyone being depowered on arrival, but it would make him look at the ideas and concepts of divination differently and i think he would have an interest in learning more
since the reality check that actually seeing things in a supernatural context is definitely real in some worlds and he has a very personal experience with it
i am in a very bad place sensory wise, pls heal me alan wake
the way he says thank you in this video makes me want to cry, maybe crying will help with the sinus pressure. idk could also make it worse
found a video posted that has the writer's journey videos
he eats the manuscript pages and everything
dropping another spoiler video here but it's timestamped to a very funny moment to me considering everything else happening b/c it's a fictional version of alan wake in a movie and the guy playing him in this scene is shirtless in leather pants hovering down from the well he's risen from, and he does this lil flex that's just
if you think about it as alan flexing, it's just funny considering his stamina is a joke in the first game
the dialogue is in finnish with no subs however so if you don't speak finnish you don't really know what's happening out of context haha
other than weird things in the woods
comedy of the flex aside, that is pretty much how i've imagined alan's body type being like under his many layers so finger guns at myself
nice to have topless refs of ilkka villi at last
coming over here to my spoiler containment plurk for a moment to say that some people really do miss a lot of the point of alan's character in AW2 and just overall
someone made a very gotcha "i knew it" about alan being terrible when they finished return 6 chapter and "dark, twisted, and cruel" plays, calling it "definitely bad guy music"
which I won't dispute the latter, because it is definitely bad guy music
but some people have forgotten the layers involved in the separation and connections both between alan and scratch as entities.
a major part of alan's story as a person is that YES he has been a bad guy, BUT he wants to be better, however he becomes overwhelmed by his guilt and anxieties and doesn't know how to overcome them in a healthy way
alice sees that there is a goodness in alan that the rest of the world sees. she also sees the monstrous parts of him more intimately because she is close to him.
scratch is alan's dark side, but scratch is also more than that. scratch would not exist without the supernatural forces that live in the threshold beyond cauldron lake
so for people to equate scratch and the evil, darker parts of alan as wholly alan, they miss the point
there are parts of scratch that alan is at fault for, but he is not scratch
and he is not entirely responsible for scratch's actions, because scratch is also a cosmic horror possessing him
