elementary, if playing out stories with toy figures and in the garden counts. we had Playmobil with excessive stories and access to piles of dress-up stuff
and yknow, pre-internet + tiny village
i got into writing sometime at 12, started at fanfiktion (the german
https://fanfiction.net) and got a random recruitment email there to a chat rp, Eandel. back before they figured out a internal spam filter lol
nothing special, do "speak" -think- style, average medieval fantasy with no real plot
well i suppose the admin had a plot, but he micromanaged us so badly that it took less than a month to spin-off our own chat, Nordlande. that went a bunch of years, with over a dozen chars between 4 players
some OC, some IC, some IC-pretending-to-be-OC. fun times, if you ignore the fact that the chat service had zero archiving. zero. you logged out, it was all gone for you, even if it was a short connection issue
you can imagine what chaos that might cause if not everyone is there at the same time (and we never planned, you just hung out in chat till someone joined)
one member did a forum rp for more flexibility - plot was essentially "what if we end up in our characters bodies but in the real world"
did get back to fanfiction forum rp after that, for more extensive writing, one offshoot of that was a website i set up with 2 friends. mythology creature crossover, with a dozen parallel side-rps (stranded island, apocalypse setting, childhood AU, you name it)
got me to look into other forums, with mentions going to a The Tribe rp (anyone know that show even?), a yaoi school thing and a Heroes one
my main forum turned out Seelentor. the plot is... hard to explain bc we expanded on so much of the lore over the years, but it started out as "spirited away into fantasy world, find you got magic powers there, fight a war against evil". also just 3-4 ppl
we restarted the main plot of that like 5 times over the years, with months of breaks between as growing-up tangled us all up in adulting. still got occassional contact today
the first online rp, was an Elfquest site,
https://beaconcallholt.c... - still on there and i daresay my english improved rather some thanks to it, though that too is going rather slow nowadays
another site i spend 4-5 years on before coming here was Pandora. multicrossover and the first one where i really focused on IC, instead of making an IC into an OC version that fit whatever game i was in. it sadly closed doors a while back and i only really kept contact to one friend from there
i was rather put down when that closed and spend the time over covid pretty much just with the friend from there doing 1:1 rp on discord
well, i wanted back to some more ppl, i did want an rp with some more adulty/darker vibe and my usual sites didnt offer anything satisficating, so here i am now!
