so in today's "i am absolutely done with my roomate" so! we can't afford the storage unit, the storage unit that we've had since like, may of 2020, that exclusively contains their stuff. i call the storage company and get told that yeah, it's cool if we pay on the 16th, just the total cost will be 100 dollars. we've paid... about 3k or so to keep this unit.
why haven't we cleaned it out? because we can't get any friends to come up and help us. it would take a FUCKING SINGLE DAY OF WORK. and someone with a car willing to do trips either to our house or the dump, but no. the "just get an uber and do it" isn't monetarily feasable right now, plus i have no ideas what dump fees are.
also. without the power of a small mob, i doubt i can get my roomate to stick to the "small wagonload" they claim that they want to keep. i do NOT have good faith that just the two of us, with our broken-ass bodies, will be able to do this. especially on hotter days because that storage unit is in an UN-air conditioned metal warehouse.
so i talked to the storage company about like. "hey we're having disputes with ownership of the items" (true, a good part of the load is owned by someone who used to live with roommate, and doesn't want it anymore) and i got back, "tough titties, if you can't dispose of it, keep paying the fee or we'll take you to collections"
note. this ENTIRE TIME I'VE BEEN PAYING FOR THE UNIT. not roommate.
so i bring this up to said roommate
who has... no damn reaction whatsoever
i mention this
"i don't have any answer"
which. is their way of being like "i don't/can't engage with this conversation and i may possibly choose to hide in my loft bed for the rest of the day rather than be a fucking adult and have a difficult talk."
so i go "Oh okay! here's your two answers then, CALL YOUR DAMN FORMER ROOMATE AND HAVE THEM PICK UP THEIR GARBAGE. Or GET YOUR FRIENDS TO HELP OUT WITH THE CLEANOUT."
they have chosen: DO NOTHING AND CURL UP MORE IN BED

snickersnack: the problem is that because it's in my name, if we dump it, they're going to do a lean/collections against my credit, which! my credit is garbage but i don't want it tanked any further. BUT. HOLY SHIT if you can, that would be amazing? we're still in the same spot
