What do you think is the "perfect" age difference between children? How long should I wait to have a second?

I wanted 18-24 months between - got 20 months, very happy with that. Depends on how you plan to raise them, I think (ie return to work?)

: my mum had a 25 month old and an 11 month old when I was born - none toilet trained and no washing machine! Braver than I.

True, but we were perfect children so it was easy!
Now my parents have 4 grandchildren born within 22 months!

I liked having only one school year between sis and me. We were very close friends. Longer wait? Less friendship.

our son turned 3 four days after his sister was born. He took good care of her, and they played well as toddlers.

I liked 3 years...the 3 year old was old enough to understand that I needed to take care of her baby brother. My first two were 20 months

My first two are 17 months apart. About 2 years, they will be buddies! The events they may be in will be close together.
