welcome back.
Tell us all about your goodies!
jealous of your Stitches adventure! Please do tell us more!!
I took classes from Chris Byslma (Stashology) on using your stash yarns together in a project, from Ginger Luters on Designing Knitwear
on the computer, and Melissa Leapman on closed end cables. And I steeked!!
Steeking!
I bought hand dyed fiber from Lisa Souza (merino/something blend? and Wenleydale) for once I get better at spinning...
(still no wheel here yet
I bought a bunch of laceweight yarn, since my current obsession is lace shawls. Galina Kalimouva? had a booth, and I got several shades of
merino /silk and a pattern for multi--color, multi-pattern triangular shawl
beads for a scarf, and a pattern. It uses 185 yds of sock yarn, so I figured that could come out of my stash.
some of the new-to-me sock yarn, Zauerball? Zaueryarn? something like that, distributed by Skacel--long color repeats
how were the classes? I heard good things about Melissa Leapman's class at Stitches Midwest.
*sigh* That all sounds so wonderful! (and I want to say it is Zauberball maybe?) oh, and I'm VERY impressed that you tried steeking!!!
I enjoyed the classes all, especially Melissa Leapman, she was entertaining as well as informative. Ginger Luters was very knowledgeable.
That sounds awesome, all of it!
The steeking was cool. We had homework to knit a swatch 50 st wide by 25 rows high, and we cut it up with two different methods of steeks
one was using a slip stitch (crochet) and the other was using single crochet--I think like the Meg Swansen method
we then picked up and knit button bands from our steeks in different ways and tried out different buttonhole techniques
the Ravelry dinner at Scalini's (italian restaurant owned by a local Raveler's/vendor's dad) was fabulous!
I did the Stitches opending day luncheon but skipped the evening dinners
got to run to get my lunch now, ttyl
