do you guys think that it is necessary for early elementary students to use a "kid friendly" word processor?

I am in a positi1on of having to take away a bunch of software in our elementary schools that is about 15 years old ...
and I am being told that K-2 students are "overwhelmed" by MS Word. Any advice appreciated.
That's a new one. What would be an example of a kid friendly word processor?
It is a piece of software copyrighted in 1997 titled Sunbuddy Writer.
seems like a silly idea to me...
Thats what I thought, but I come from a HS setting and wanted to confirm my thoughts.
our K-5 kids have no problems using MS word, excel, ppt.
hmmm. I think that my kdg DD used word better than her father. I have it set for her without a lot of the buttons I have on mine.
