you know, I can't remember where I heard this, but some cooking web site/show said that it's not that bad for you.

is MSG common in all Asian foods? I ask because I spent a lot of time in Asia and don't remember any bad reactions.

had a friend who was allergic to MSG, and he used to get extreme headaches

I have heard friends say they get really bloated after eating Chinese/Japanese which they attributed to the salt

I have to be very careful w/ it... after suffering from *cluster* headache attacks for some time... found out MSG is a trigger.

do you get the same reaction when eat meat or tomatoes? 'cause they have natural MSG, :-)

no interest in eating meat (lifetime vegetarian) 24 yrs. since the last time I tasted anything of meat (back when I was a "chef", & had to)

I don't mind avoiding MSG too much in general... except I used to love CLAMATO in my beer (itz called a chelada)... which has massive MSG

yes, I start to sweat and my face gets really red. it's only happened once with carryout chinese in Sarasota.. the place by Ed Smith

my fiance spent 6 weeks in China and got addicted to MSG... and he says you can definitely taste it as well. He LOVES it.
