i think hes one of those people that once they get angry, need to get away from it

and his wanting to go on this expedition was the perfect way to do that

i agree...he was self-isolating...forming only surface relationships, but not intimate ones...he didn't want to get close to ron, or wayne,

he was extremely guarded..it wasn't that he was reclusive, but i think he was hell-bent on proving that he could handle anything alone

yes! he doesnt want to become too close to anyone, and i think since he was so good at everything, and could do many things well..

that he wanted to do something that he knew would be virtually impossible, just to prove he could do it

but he didnt make it

he was certainly OVER confident...almost to the point of arrogance. nature has proven time and time again that you don't mess with her!!

most definitely, chris obviously didnt realize the power of nature, even if he had, im not sure if he would have thought twice about going

although the interesting thing is(and you'll find this out), if he hadn't made a really unlucky mistake, he probably would have made it
