Going to dinner tonight at a restaurant we used to enjoy on special occasions back in her med school days. Finish up where we started, 42 years ago (Valley Green Inn in Fairmont Park, Philadelphia- been there 150+ yrs)

wife had a friendly companion Friday while waiting at the hospital (due to covid restrictions, I was waiting outside in or near the car)

between retirement gifts for my wife, and get well gifts for daughter, looking like a flower shop here

wife retiring in a few days, no more on-call nights the old beeper , kept years for this very night, bashed, impaled, spiked, and finally slagged

today is a scary day for our family. Daughter (32 yr) is having a basal cell carcinoma removed from top of scalp. They had to take more than expected to get clear margins. Had to be transferred to the local cancer center for a plastic surgeon to get the almost 2 inch patch on top of her skull closed.

wife is down to her last 2 weeks before retirement! and tonight is her very last night on call- we rough estimated at breakfast that over her 40 yr career as a Pediatrician, she has been on call about 3000 nights. The ceremonial destruction of an old beeper will probably be Thursday evening
