a toddlerism to give you a smile: my grandson refers to his father's 3 D Printer as "Daddy's robot in the basement", and was very happy when he learned from me that "pop-pop has a robot in his basement too"
covid suddenly got closer than I'd like. Young cousin from LA, going to college in middle-of-nowhere, PA has tested positive. We've gotta go get her and quarantine her her here. She can't go home. Wife will do the 7 hr round trip in morning to fetch, with full ppe on the return..while I prep the family room and attached bathroom for isolation.
Getting plenty worried about what will happen the next few months...over the last couple months (on good days), have pulled several years worth of essential living expenses out of the stock market. If nothing happens, I can go back in with little loss. If there is a short duration hiccup, perhaps some.bargains can be found.
yea! 38 years living in this house, just now was the first groundhog sighting in our yard! A young one. Wife and I have a fondness for groundhogs, we met on Groundhog Day, 48 years ago, in a small town where we both grew up, not far from Punksytawney, PA
starting to get the hang of tinkercadd..took the last couple hrs designing an instrument panel for a "solar power generator" that I'm building...will try 3d printing it tomorrow, see if I get lucky and hit it on the "first draft". Will hold power switch, 4 USB outlets, a "cigarette lighter" socket, and 2 Anderson Powerpole outlets.
family is holding breath and crossing fingers tonight, youngest son will be taking the Pennsylvania Bar Exam next 3 days. He's been putting in 8 to 10 hrs a day since June, studying for it...
tinkering this morning. 100 W solar panel, charge controller, and battery ( 35 amphr-too small) am currently running a 25 quart car refrigerator and charging tablet and phone from partly cloudy photons- fun!
we had a nice day at the beach yesterday. Brigantine NJ has a dogs permitted beach at the north end. Cooper's first ocean visit (with us anyways). Wary at first, but before long, happily going belly deep and hopping the wavelets. Lots of people and dogs, but well and safely distanced between groups.perfect weather.
