I would like to point out that while I do have one (more than one) I do not actually use them.

But nobody will be able to obtain one now, I am told; they will all be "me.com" which is a ridiculous domain.

I gave up mine a while ago.

I have to say that I have considered using mine for that reason, but in practice I have a better provider and lots of stored mail there.
