mom made a request for a TPOR short that made me 👀 because it's not plot-affecting but it'll be cute enough to use as a reader magnet. and it might be a good idea to offer a new one before i go on my 2025 hiatus. here's to hoping my brain will let me write and finish it in time 😂

other than that, no big writing plans for the end of the year, just wrapping things up mostly!

today i have to update my shop listing for tomorrow's december dash event - i have to make sure what i have listed is in stock. then double check the location (limiting to the UK for now) and shipping prices too.

that's pretty much all i'm making myself do today, aside from decorating our tree lol

in other news, a reader/reviewer liked HF and is actually moving onward to MR so YAY WIN

they found the series via that time MS was picked up as a book club read, then started HF last month

and while i haven't been tagged in any reviews recently, i am seeing reviews trickle in (on goodreads at least) for NQ and MS

cover reveal and pre-order announcement day for devotion in the open air, which is the official title of the affection anthology! i'm so happy to be part of this one because it's all-women, all-BIPOC? and under a US publisher too, which means a lot given the country's political situation.

i'm also reminded of how great it feels to be part of an anthology that's not just you and a bunch of friends agreeing to publish your work 😂 there was a submission and selection process with an editor + it's a legit small indie press. my brain's all TAKE THAT, IMPOSTER SYNDROME. THIS WOMAN CAN WRITE. lmfaoooo

anyway i've updated my book collage header, time to upload to my socials hahaha

me being cheeky on my personal FB 🤣 i haven't posted my christmas market pic so very few people over there know that i'm pregnant. but also the context for this was mostly me once posting that i'm going to call all my books as my babies to shut up questions about when we're having a baby LMAO

being sick has made me slow but little progress is better than none at all right? lmao also despite not focusing on marketing i still reply to things when i get on socials and i might've gotten some new people to check out TPOR - i def know there was someone who bought HF lately. thewrittenfae :>

though next year i'll stay off from socials (as in i'll delete the apps from my phone) so i won't be able to hustle with marketing anymore. i'll also reduce my NL frequency and make that announcement in a last, end of year NL blast.

it'll be interesting how the books will do by then

for the rest of the month i think my biggest items on the to do list are the final BBNYA book, the pending book reviews, and the end of year reader magnet. the last one mostly just something i want to swap to before i go on hiatus, though i'm also not going to beat myself up if i'm not able to write it.

We did have one paperback sale for HF a few days ago, yes.

i haven't been checking bc i haven't been marketing the event even (sick this week) but today i randomly did after seeing i crossed 600 downloads and woohoo #1??

the downside is, the more randos get a copy of the book, the more the risk of low ratings. like yeah, one of my books finally got a 1 star and there was even no review, just a rating 🤣 i made it! i'm a real author LMFAO

they're free downloads so no royalties there, but MS did sell 20 copies while being at full price of 0.99 - similar to what happened at the last stuff your kindle day

i did see 2 new goodreads reviews for NQ come in since yesterday, which is great? though i don't read the reviews anymore (unless i'm tagged), i just check the numbers every now and then (i have a goodreads shelf with all my books so i can quickly have a look)

i also found an opportunity for HF to be considered for a book box, though with how close it is to the end of the year and my hiatus i'll have to leave this to liz if she wants to do it Submit your Stories to Your Paper Quest

with that, all the events i have slated for this month are over - i haven't seen any boxing day or post-christmas sales being talked about, though i might just lower the prices for that period anyway and just leave it for any takers. ebook sales, per trend, rise after christmas as people supposedly get new kindles and decide to stuff them

while paperback sales supposedly rise from thanksgiving onward due to people wanting to gift books for christmas

i'm done scoring my last book for BBNYA and HOLY MOLY it was a 5. no notes. i love it soooo much.

this week i'm hoping to work on the remaining items on my TDL. which i guess i should add that i need to arrange that call for a troubleshooting session with HP to fix my printer. i've put that off long enough bc of my low mood to people lmao
