Foods that lose their heat fastest are eaten first. French Fries before burger. I do not start with one until I have finished the other. So, usually vegetable, potatoes, then meat last as it retains heat longer and also continues to cook a bit. I do not like my foods to mix.

Considering meat retains heat the longest, it's also saving the best for last.

I will make sure I get bites of the best for last, usually, but I don't eat all of one, then all of the other, then all of the third, etc.

StereoNacht: I sometimes "experiment" and put a bit of each on the same forkfull. Like if I have meat with mashed taters, I'd eat them together in one bite. With the gravy on top of course. But I usually take a bite of everything from least fav to favorite then decide which one to eat first or if there needs to be a combined thing,

like a round robin kinda thing where each bite is a different food item on the plate. I guess it's more complicated than I thought. LOL I just automatically do it though without really thinking. It's become an automatic response. I know, my mind is nuts, I think too much about everything LOL
