thank heaven you are monitoring it. The moron level has been pretty high in chat recently.
I managed to change the subject, but not until after some pretty offensive things were said while I was afk, and people resorted to muting.
I haven't been able to tolerate Babbage open chat in quite some time. It's pure blather.
I guess it kinda made me feel like maybe it wasn't my place to say anything when there were 3 other admins in the chat who hadn't stopped it
I will be honest. The quality of the group chat reflect to me the quality of the community,
by the time I came back, other than adding to the arguing, rather than putting a stop to it. And I understand it's hard when someone says..
and was part of my determining where I would be investing my time and lindens moving ahead.
something ignorant and offensive, it's hard not to try and show them how they're wrong.
I enjoy mature, grownup places. Not boringly serious, but not children, either.
That's also my concern. It reflects poorly on the community as a whole
Making a group is easy. If people enjoy babble, they could start a group and talk about pie and kittens and anime till their fingers drop.
But the main city chat DOES represent the city, like it or not.
kittens maaay have been the topic of conversation I changed it to accidentally. Really I just wanted them to talk about anything else
and stop making comments like, "I'm not racist, but..." followed by an obviously racist comment.
if you have to precede a statement with that, you already know that what you're about to say is racist and you should probably not say it.
I stopped keeping chat open when the temptation to holler loudly became too strong. I wanted to yell...
"AND HOW DOES ANY OF THIS RELATE TO LIFE IN A STEAMPUNK TOWN?"
Which would not have been helpful.
Last time I tried that in chat, Miss Commons ripped me three new ones. I won't try again.
*thppt* to Miss Commons.
Did that, but the confrontation leading up to last years mute broke something in me.
@ Ceejay:
I rather enjoy life post EM. Glad for the experience, but nice to be just a civilian!
sits down with Ceejay's broken bits and tries to put them back together like a jigsaw puzzle.
I think the cat chewed off one of my roundy connections, Ahnya!
pulls out the paper mache and makes a new roundy bit.
Ceejay already has roundy bits in all the right places
I wuv my friends! *makes a BIG group hug*
