Planting irises, bulb flowers, onions, and garlic when it's 31 degrees out and a blizzard is ten minutes away was NOT on my bucket list, but apparently my bucket is magical and has secret pockets.
Adventures in Snowstorm Gardening: We bought two of these, assembled them a few days ago, then yesterday hauled 30 wheelbarrow loads of topsoil to fill them. They are set up alongside of the big red farm barns. We got the silver, unpainted ones. I instantly loved them.
I crocheted a pile of Danish woven hearts and took a bunch to Thanksgiving. Clearly my family does not understand that they are not meant to be worn. I blame the wine.
We took the first carload over to our new house yesterday! We don't officially move in till after the coming weekend but there's some things we can do in advance. Planted these heirloom babies so they are set before any hard frosts.
