talked to Neil last night and his reasons for getting the new phone are two-fold. 1) For the kids. 2) Because he hates his old one.

He claims there is no 3, but I suspect a small dose of phone envy is involved.

personally I think it's a bad idea to let your kids play on your phones, both for discipline and for too-much-screen-time reasons.

Amen to that! The idea is to have them for emergencies, like when stuck interminably waiting for food to arrive at a restaurant, etc...

They won't have regular access at all.
