about to go pick up another foster kitten. I have two that I got as newborns (bottle babies!) who are now 4 wks old; the new friend is approx 4 - 5 wks so they'll have a lot of fun together!

I'm one proud foster mama! I'm going to be sad to see them go, but know it'll be a forever home that'll love them as much as I do so that gives me a glad.

yes, I'm not sure I could bear that.

I'll be sad, there's no doubt, but when one set leaves to be adopted I get another litter to care for. It's like I can play and nurture all the kittens I want

I want without becoming the neighbourhood crazy cat lady that hoards a ba-zillion cats. I get to watch them grow, tend to their needs and never see a vet bill

since the organisation takes care of that. I don't even have to pay for the cats food; they'd provide it. But since I own two cats I've an abundance of natural/semi-raw food

on hand that I gladly feed the kittens. I've noticed a difference between them and others their age (4 wks). They are much bigger, and by far healthier.

When I took them in for their 2 wk checkup, the vet and vet tech kept thinking they were 4-5 weeks old; they were surprised when they learnt otherwise.

Natural food, no preservatives or fillers unnatural to a carnivores diet, that's the way to go. I only hope the owners that adopt the kitties keep them on a wet food diet of meat;

it's actually a lot less expensive compared to the bulk, mass produced, cheap foods on the market (dry food especially causes renal failure prematurely).

Iams makes a great natural food for those on a budget, and a Colorado store I order food from comes in at a close second (All Natural Pet Products | Homeopathic Remedies for Dogs & Cats |...

sqeeing over the kittens! And I've been feeding my cats dry food; perhaps I should mix it up for them with wet food.

Dry food between meals is okay, but if fed as the cats sole diet, it'll take its toll on their bodies in the long run. Preventive measures now could extend the life of your furry friend by several years.

Iams is a really good quality wet food, and generally can be got at Petsmart for .59 - .69 cents a can (a lot of times if you order online for store pickup, the site offers 10 % off);

the best deal I've found so far is at Target and Walmart where you get a box of 18 mixed under $10.00. Oftentimes Target offers promo codes which will knock the price down significantly.

But even if you have to pay full price now (which isn't that high really for the 18 count box) it greatly reduces the chance of pricy medical bills later in your pets life.
