2. Getting tired of it though, but can't seem to settle down because I'm convinced we are all going to have to flee the US soon and I can't figure out where else I'd like to live.
3. My degree and first career was as a community mental health social worker. Also did a lot of work in Domestic Violence prevention. That was like... tries to count quite a few careers ago.
5. Another career - food magazine editor, food writer and now venturing into food politics, activism and still lots of cooking when I have a kitchen that is set up properly.
6. When I was around 4 I was watching Superman on the TV and tried to make myself fly by jumping on the bed, took a dive and cracked my head open. Many stitches later, I realized I was not a superhero... crushed. lol likely explains a lot.
7. Had a lot of the men in our family die when I was younger. Since then, throughout my adult life if in bed with anyone, I wake up to listen to breathing and check for life signs. It's actually becoming a neurosis.
8. Interesting to note that none of the men in my family died in their sleep, but for whatever reason, I'm just unconsciously on the look out for sleep death.
ZeeZuleicca: It's been amazing, I'm grateful. But I'm definitely missing having a home base to hide in for long periods of time. I think a combination of age and introversion make it more tiring to land somewhere and adjust repeatedly.
#9 - I'm the same, though I'm super tired in the winter because of workload and rarely tired in summer because I have it off. I still find myself blase at times about sex in the summer but horny af in the winter.
I love your nomadic lifestyle but I can also understand wanting someplace of your own to hide in and also not really being sure of settling in the US. And #9 omg yes. Heat stroke in the middle of sex is so not fun. Plus Winter sex means more cuddles or just passing the fuck out afterwards and well...cuddles lol
Tigist: You might be interested in all the work that Slow Food International is doing, particularly with their Ark Of Taste program to preserve native foods that are central to local cultures. They're a pretty amazing organization.
StormyWilde: This is likely very unsexy TMI, but as I get older, the cuddles matter more and more. Naked body tangled lounging while reading a book and now, sadly, while wearing reading glasses is totally my jam.
EverStill I don't think that is unsexy at all. I LOVE cuddles. To me just being around someone you care that much about, laying in bed and reading or watching tv or doing whatever with them adds to the mental, emotional and physical connection
