They coulda brought back last names anytime by lettin' new folks use a dot in their name. Dunno what they're thinkin' of here.

I've never understood why we couldn't just add a name rather than go with Resident. Whatever, now even old-timers can change their names.

Nobuddy was really named Resident, I reckon; that was jes a placeholder. Any script that calls somebuddy Resident nowadays is obsolete (or usin' obsolete commands).

I dunno if I buy this "even oldtimers can change their last names!" 'cause how th'heck would that work? My username is samm.florian. Are they gonna let me change my username? I reckon not. So is my new name gonna be Samm.Florian LastName?

Your 'user' name will be able to be changed. So, says the mighty, all wise Oz... Linden. The part that won't change is the avatar's UUID.

If that ain't causin' uproar yet then SLians ain't what they used t'be.

sammflorian from 2008 and on I've been around and lots of people were wanting to change their names. I think today's SL'ers are pretty much as they always were, fickle.
