Finding a job is a numbers game. From a recruiter friend of mine - they say you need 100 applications out there. And you will need roughtly 10 in person interviews before getting a job.

And that online applications tend to get ignored -- a contact with links into a company will be the best way

I've heard this too. In the past I definitely networked to get jobs. It's an overwhelming process isn't it? I would definitely like to network, but now I'm going for more professional and less while in college jobs, so I'm a little lost for networking.

Oh wow, I hope you get something! It is so overwhelming, I feel so nervous meeting new people but job interviewing makes me specially nervous

greenworldgirl: It is definitely a nervous making activity. I want and interview I want to be hired, but change is scary and I'm not sure of my capabilities now I'm passed the while-in-college job phase. Thanks for the well wishes my dear.

It really is overwhelming. But hang in there, and get those numbers up and you will be fine! The job market is better than it has been in a long time, so if you keep it up, you will find something!!
