[For the Anime crowd that RPs] I keep thinking of setting up a Discord account to try out rping but I'm reluctant to do so because I heard that you might have to show a photo and be in a voice chat. It will sound strange but I'm not fond of showing people what I look like, especially in my line of work, and I hate speaking over the Internet. I feel a bit
scared that someone will record my voice for all eternity.
I think part of the reason why I feel that way because it seems so easy to track someone down these days.
I thought about a play by post but it doesn't feel..right for me? Anyway, sorry for the nonsensical stuff today

I don't know anything about Discord RP, but that "we just don't put our voice, face, or retinal scan on the internet! it's common sense! what is going on in this world!" feel is very real.

huh... I expect it depends on the group... I haven't done much discord rp, and not in an established discord rp community, but I don't see why it would be needed...
