I only have two kids. Both are grown. Both have been promoted to newly created Kitchen Manager position...
one to the day position, the other to the night position. Both are sous chefs
Mama is batting 2 for 2 - very proud!!
you must be proud of them
I hope you tell them, too.
I'm so proud of those boys I could pop. And yes, they run and tell me these things because they know how proud I am of their work ethic
When they were teens, I was so worried they would follow their dad's example..
He worked like two years out of our marriage and spent the other 10 years having a party that I financed.
Me working over time and trading in my vacations for cash to replace the income he was blowing...
I never got to have a vacation until I gave him his marching papers and a bus ticket to get out of my face.
Of course, I got over the initial hatred and now we are friends but the concern they would follow his example was very real.
That makes this all that much sweeter to me!
Pappy Dan deserves credit too - They knew that Pappy would just about crawl to work even when he was very ill.
Pappy loves to brag on his grandsons...
He's run into ppl who lamented the loss of the one cook who could make a good steak at our local Golden Corral
He loves to tell them that that was his grandson Mason and that he's at Comeback Inn now...
Golden Corral still begs him to come back because the customers always ask why he's not there anymore and want him back.
done running off at the mouth now. This is just really, really special to me...
You go ahead and talk about your sons all you want! It's so great to hear a parent who is proud of her children! And you should be!
I'm jealous of them btw, I wanted to become a chef
Sam wanted to be a chef once - so bad we even tried to get him into a course that didn't accept kids under 16 (he wanted it from 8-14)
we also set aside a fab set of knives for him - but then he decided he wanted to go into child care. He still cooks and bakes tho.
Mason is a big surprise. Mikey always loved to cook but Mason would just about starve before he would cook something for himself when a teen
Mikey went to Sullivan College here in Louisville in their culinary arts program but when his marriage fell apart, he dropped out.
He has a gift, though, so add what he gained from the program to his natural talent for cooking and he just hit the ground running.
that it's excellent that they get to do something they seem to love
He taught his little brother much of what he knows. Chris jumped on hiring Mason after seeing Mikey work for two years.
The way they fought as kids, it's amazing to see them working together and working so well together.
I'd like to see them own their own restaurant some day...
And mom growing fresh produce and herbs for them...
way to go kiddos! they must have a great mom
I love when peeps beat the odds - bite off statistics! You rock, lady, and deserve to be filled with pride! I'll bet the boys absolutely
love their mom, too! Such a good feeling and thank you so much for sharing - your boys are fabulous
and i know whatcha mean about when they were little - my son & daughter probably would have killed each other if I let them...they are best
