I'm so fed up with fucking fireworks. Every bloody night for the last two weeks. they're very loud and very near.
The cats jump every time.

urgh, mortified! Kev is off to a colleague's funeral and other colleagues came here, and Kev's driving them the rest of the way.
The bathroom really needed a damn good clean but we spent Saturday doing DIY and creating dust, and yesterday watching a friend do a half marathon in Oxford. By the time we got back we were cold, wet, muddy, and tired and we

Had a bad day, in fact a bad week. There are reminders of Squeaps and Maisy everywhere and I keep bursting into tears. I know Maisy was elderly, but she seemed to be such a tough little cat, and though she'd been ill I really thought she had turned a corner and was getting better.
We think we know what happened to Squeaps now, and if so our suspicions were

Some bastard has PMed me on Facebook to tell me that I should give up on Squeaps.
He claims to be a cat lover.
I pity his poor cat.

I want my Squeaps to come home. On the local lost and found page all the cats that went missing around the same time as Squeaps have come home. I'm so happy for their humans, but it makes me even sadder because I think she has died alone, afraid, in pain, and hearing us calling her.
I'm trying very hard to stay positive, but it is so hard.

We've had Chinooks going to and fro overhead for a few days. I was pleased to discover that they have been helping at Whaley Bridge dam. https://images.plurk.com/1zNwVbMveWQZHLVhvtJ1wT.jpg

It's four weeks since we last saw Squeaps.
I'm a complete wreck - I can't concentrate on anything, I just want to be out looking for her all the time.
I can't sleep because I'm going over and over all the things we did wrong that evening, all the things we could have done better or sooner when looking for her.
I'm heartbroken.

We got a phone call from a woamn who had just seen a cat that looked like Squeaps. She'd taken a video and when we saw it it really did look like her. The cat was hiding under a van and when we called she came out and my heart soared.. but then she slunk away into bushes/thick hedge :-( We called and called but no cat came out.
The lady emailed us the video

Farewell to the White Zulu whose music helped to end apartheid.
So glad that I got to see your farewell tour two years ago. Possibly the most amazing concert I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot. Scatterlings of Africa - Johnny Clegg & Savuka 1987
